TRAINING EXPERIENCE IN SEPARATION AND DIVORCE TOPICS
May 15, 2010 in Chevy Chase, Maryland
Dr. Herrick was a Presenter at this One Day Training: Creating a Deep and Durable Collaborative Parenting Plan, a six hour training focused on helping professionals (attorneys and mental health professionals) learn more about how to work with the interpersonal dynamics between the parents as they construct their parenting plan. The training reviews the nuts and bolts of a Collaborative Parenting Plan, but also focuses on how to intervene most successfully with clients who have challenging relationship issues. Additionally, this training offers information about what lawyers need to see in a thorough Plan. The training presenters included two MHPs, and two attorneys.2009 – Ongoing: Faculty Member of CPTI:
Collaborative Practice Training Institute
CPTI is a Faculty of 19 Collaborative professionals from the legal, mental health and financial fields. Working in small teams of presenters and facilitators, CPTI professionals provide both introductory 3-day trainings on Collaborative Interdisciplinary Team Practice, and intermediate/advanced trainings on special topics. In 2009, Dr. Herrick participated as a lead trainer for CPTI for a three day team training in Virginia Beach, Virginia, a 30 Hour Interest Based Negotiation Training in Lynchburg VA, and a presentation at the IACP Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is an IACP Qualified Trainer and is planning an upcoming advanced Collaborative training in May 2010, in Bethesda, Maryland. With Jamie Lapin, Collaborative Financial Neutral, Dr. Herrick designed an all day workshop structure for teaching higher level Collaborative skills within a team context. The first Boot Camp took place in Bethesda, MD in October, 2008 and was attended by Collaborative professionals from Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. The second Boot Camp was held in October, 2009.

Dr. Herrick trains experienced mental health clinicians to provide parenting coordination services to high conflict parents who are separated and divorced.2006 – 2007 Presenter: “An Introduction to Parenting Coordination: Moving High Conflict Divorced Parents from Litigation toward Communication”
