Welcome

I have been in practice since 1988. I have been working in both Falls Church and downtown Washington, DC with a wide variety of clients throughout my career.

I have particular expertise in working with people who are striving to improve their personal relationships, both within their families and with romantic partners. I also work extensively with adults who are coping with anxiety, depression or grief. Additionally, I will work with children and teenagers during short-term consultations only, but no longer work with children and teenagers in any ongoing treatment.

A large part of my practice is devoted to working with families struggling through separation and divorce. I often help parents talk together about how to tell their kids about their decision to separate or divorce. Please take a look at my guide to “Telling the Children About the Divorce”.

I am an experienced Collaborative Divorce Coach and Child Specialist, and have helped hundreds of families work toward successful resolution in their Collaborative cases. I am also a Parenting Coordinator, working with divorced parents who are suffering in a high conflict co-parenting relationship and want to increase their cooperation and improve communication.

I have been a leader in the Collaborative practice communities in the Greater Washington DC area for almost 20 years, serving on several Boards, and chairing two education committees to help train professionals in mediation and Collaborative divorce.

Further information about my therapy services, and my work with separating or divorcing clients, are contained within the pages of this website. Please click on any of the links in the sidebar to find out more, or click here to email me.
