When working with my clients, I use a variety of treatment techniques and theories. I believe that everyone is powerfully influenced by the people and events from their childhood and teenage years, yet individual psychotherapy sessions are often focused on the people and events in my clients’ current lives. My approach is to work towards insight and understanding of self, while raising self-awareness about current interpersonal patterns. I sometimes make use of mindfulness meditation, and cognitive – behavioral techniques to help people achieve their goals, but empathy and compassion are at the core of my therapeutic relationships with clients.
Whenever necessary, I collaborate with psychiatrists I trust to evaluate the need for medication to supplement our therapy.
