I provide short term consultations with children and teens that include a focus on helping their parents understand the children’s perspective, and take it into account when creating custody plans. This latter role is called a “Child Specialist” role, and does not transform into ongoing therapy.
My work with families who are already living in two homes includes treatment of children and their parents when a child, or the children, experience significant conflict with their parent(s) following a divorce, resist spending time with one parent, or refuse to transition to the other home. (Note: I only accept a small number of “resist-refuse” cases at any given time due to the time intensive nature of this service.)
